As I mentioned the other day, I have had decorating on the brain lately. Unfortunately, I have almost no budget to speak of, so I have had to be resourceful in outfitting my bedroom. Enter
Little Green Notebook, a fantastic blog by interior decorator Jenny Komenda. Jenny's blog is chock full of DIY decorating ideas for the cash-strapped, and I already have a few projects bookmarked, including
DIY roman shades,
silver leafing, and
lacquer boxes. What a great find!
This will be something to pour over when I'm at work tomorrow night. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe blinds into roman shades is genius, but if you're still interested in the possibility of wood or bamboo for your windows, check out overstock.com. They had some nice options when I looked this morning.
You're welcome! I know you will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip...wow, Overstock has a TON of bamboo shades. I do worry that they won't block out enough light. Do you think I could back them with canvas or something?
They make fabric that's specific for light blockage, and I'm sure you could just glue that onto the back. Generally that's what people use to line curtains and Roman shades. But if you choose something with a tighter weave, I don't know if it would even be a problem.
