Anthropologie "Ikat" vs. Madeline Weinrib "Ikat" - Ikat is everywhere these days, even in flooring. I like the blue and white of the Madeline Weinrib version, but the Anthropologie version is so much warmer and more rustic-looking. I picture it adding coziness to a white-walled bedroom or den. Point for Anthropologie.

Anthropologie "Meandering Meadow" vs. Madeline Weinrib "Chime" - These two rugs are awfully similar, though the Madeline Weinrib reads as more graphic and modern while the Anthropologie reads as more retro. Still, they're similar enough that it would seem silly to pay triple or quadruple the price for the Madeline Weinrib. Point for Anthropologie.

Anthropologie "Coqo Floral" vs. Madeline Weinrib "Ginger" - Okay, these two rugs aren't terribly similar except in terms of color. I could see the Anthropologie rug in a feminine bedroom or a sunny living room, while the Madeline Weinrib would probably be most at home in an office or perhaps a formal dining room. It's a toss-up.

Anthropologie "Festival" vs. Madeline Weinrib "Mums" - These two rugs are both gorgeous, but I prefer the subtlety of the Madeline Weinrib over the explosion of color in the Anthropologie. In fact, the "Mums" rug just might be the most beautiful piece of floor art I have ever seen. Point for Madeline Weinrib.
And the winner: Anthropologie! Unless I some day magically find the "Mums" rug on sale (ideally for 75% off), I don't think I could ever justify buying a Madeline Weinrib. Sorry, MW, but don't fret...I'm sure there are plenty of millionaires out there who disagree with me.

LB, while we were shopping for Christmas tablecloths (for our new table) over the weekend at TJ Maxx (Homegoods), I came across a tablecloth that was remarkably similar to the Madeline Weirib "Chime"; dunno if you'd want to use it as rug, though.
